A friend of mine wanted me to draw her Boston Terrier, Goblin, like one of the Medieval Bestiary creatures, which were rough approximations of animals based on similarities to other animals, drawn in a engraving-ish style. Her description was:
Hee hathe the Nose and Taile of a Pigg,
the Ears and Feete of a Goate,
while having the Eyes and Mouthe and Fur of a Dog.

The pope was yakking on the TV at McDonald’s while I was choking down health foods. He’s got an interesting–albeit frightening–lump of a head, so I just had to draw him. My portrayal of him as a demonic little gnome-like creature isn’t much of a hyperbole.

A friend of mine on the LiveJournal has a themed art challenge every Saturday. The theme last time was “harlequin babies,” with the unspoken guideline being to make it as messed up and wrong as you see fit. This submission (my first ever sketch in a Moleskine) was actually pretty tame compared to the other people who joined in.
